Let me explain: the world as we knew it has ended. There are zombies everywhere. Fema has failed. The National Guard has failed. But you were prepared. You have bugged out and have been living in a small town on the outskirts of nowhere for the last 3 months. You are now a stupendous zombie slayer.
With any other type of holster, if a zombie knocks you on your back, you have to maneuver your arm against many obstacles to get at your gun. With the zombie on top of you, shoulder holsters are impossible. You’ll never reach across your chest past that zombie. Hip holsters are incredibly unhandy. You’ll have to move your elbow backwards to position your hand above your hip to take the grip. Being on your back that means digging your elbow into the dirt and just barely reaching it as your elbow skids off to one side. A thigh holster means you have to pull the gun out, while your knees are most likely bend, so your pulling the grip of the gun downwards into the dirt, and must sway your hip into the air in order to wedge the gun free. In all these scenarios you are too late and the zombie bites you squarely in the face!
The best solution is a chest holster. The grip of the gun is close enough to reach even with a zombie lying on top of you. No obstacles for your elbow; just pull out your gun and shoot the zombie in the head. Also works for marauders knocking you on your back, but be advised: you have to supply the balls to pull the trigger, yourself.
